eInvoicing – Electronic invoice transmission

A topic that currently concerns many of you – electronic invoice transmission – also known as eInvoicing.

What is it all about?

The processing of invoices is raised to a new level by eInvoicing! This is because the upcoming e-invoicing obligation relies entirely on the advantages of an e-invoicing software solution (e.g. error avoidance, improved compliance, etc.). According to the Federal Ministry of Finance, electronic invoice transmission is also expected to be gradually introduced in Germany from January 1, 2025. From this date, it will be mandatory for all companies in Germany to send and receive only electronic invoices.

From this point onwards, invoices must be created, sent and received in a structured electronic format. Invoices on paper or in PDF format will no longer be recognized in future, as the invoice information is not available in a structured format. The prerequisite for the transmission of invoice data to the tax authorities is the existence of an original, electronically generated, structured data record.

How does CargoSoft provide support here?

CargoSoft is already working intensively on the topic of eInvoicing and has its sights firmly set on implementation with the first Eastern European countries, such as Romania, where the new process will start in April 2024. Poland will follow a little later, as soon as the final confirmation of mandatory use there is available, probably from May 2024.

For Germany, we will then start with the incoming invoice in Q4/2024, as incoming vouchers will most likely be mandatory as of January 1, 2025 according to the above-mentioned information from the BMF.

What is your cyber security situation?

Many medium-sized trading and logistics companies have some catching up to do in this area. We don’t want your company to become an easy target for hackers! Almost one in four companies (22 percent) has already been the victim of cyber attacks. Every second company that has been attacked has even been temporarily shut down and had to restore its IT systems at great expense (especially financially). This was revealed by a representative Forsa survey of 300 companies in the wholesale, retail and transportation sectors commissioned by the German Insurance Association (GDV).

Together with our partner OHB Digital Services GmbH, we are specifically addressing four security topics that have become increasingly relevant for every company.
